Outrun Cyber Dynamics LLC ("we", "us", "our") built the Vesper app as a commercial app. This Service is provided by Outrun Cyber Dynamics LLC and is intended for use as is.
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for anyone using our Service. In short: Vesper requires no account, your dream journal is stored on your device, your dreams are processed only to provide transcription and readings, and we never sell your data or show you ads.
Your dream entries (transcripts, readings, and settings) are stored in a local database on your device. We do not keep a copy of your journal on our servers. You remove this data yourself by deleting an entry in the app or by uninstalling the app.
When you record a dream, your audio is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend, which passes it to a speech-to-text provider to produce the transcript that is returned to your device. The audio is processed to create the transcript and is not stored on our servers. We never log your audio or your transcripts.
When you request a reading, the text of your dream is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend and processed by an AI language model to generate the reflective reading returned to you. We route these requests through providers configured for zero data retention, and we do not store your dream content on our servers or use it to train any model.
Vesper signs you in anonymously using a randomly generated identifier; no name, email address, or account is required. Our servers store only usage counters (such as the number of readings you have requested) keyed to that identifier, to enforce fair-use limits and subscription quotas.
We use PostHog to collect usage analytics, such as screens visited, features used, and basic device and app information, under a pseudonymous identifier. We use this data only to understand how Vesper is used and to improve it. It is never used for advertising and never sold.
Vesper offers an optional subscription sold and processed by Apple through the App Store or Google through Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, tied to your random identifier.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Your journal lives on your device and is deleted when you delete entries or uninstall the app. Usage counters and analytics are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above. To request deletion of any data associated with your identifier, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz.
Vesper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We value your trust in providing us your information, so we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. All data sent to our backend travels over encrypted connections. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Because Vesper keeps your journal on your device, you remain in control of it at all times. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including access, correction, and deletion; if you have any questions about exercising them, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
