Outrun Cyber Dynamics LLC ("we", "us", "our") built the Equals app as a commercial app. This Service is provided by Outrun Cyber Dynamics LLC and is intended for use as is.
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for anyone using our Service. In short: Equals requires no account, requires no network connection to play, shows no ads, and does not collect personal information. We do collect anonymous usage statistics to understand how the game is played and to find crashes — you can switch this off at any time in the app's Settings.
Equals does not ask for or collect personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and we do not track you across other apps or websites. The game requires no account and is fully playable offline.
To understand how Equals is played and to detect problems, the App sends anonymous usage and diagnostic data to our analytics provider, PostHog. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
What is sent:
Events are tied to a random identifier generated on your device. That identifier is not your name, your email, your Apple or Google account, or your advertising ID, and it is reset when you uninstall the App. We never send your scores, statistics, or settings in a form that identifies you.
Open Settings in the App and turn off Share usage data under the Analytics section. Collection stops immediately and no further events are sent from your device. The game works exactly the same with analytics off.
Your settings (such as theme, sound, and haptics preferences), gameplay statistics, and best scores are stored locally on your device only. They never leave your device except through the optional game services and the anonymous usage data described in this policy, and they are removed when you uninstall the App.
Equals optionally integrates with Apple Game Center (on iOS) and Google Play Games Services (on Android) to provide leaderboards and achievements. If you choose to sign in to these services, your scores and achievement progress are submitted to Apple or Google and associated with your player profile there. This data is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, and we do not receive or store it. You can play Equals without signing in to these services; leaderboards and achievements will simply be unavailable.
The third parties that may process information in connection with Equals are:
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process anonymous usage data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the game is used and in keeping it working correctly. You can object to this at any time by turning off Share usage data in Settings. This data is processed by PostHog on servers in the United States under the safeguards described in their privacy policy.
Your game data lives on your device, so deleting the App deletes it. Anonymous usage events are retained by PostHog for up to 12 months and then deleted. Because these events are anonymous and not linked to you, we generally cannot locate the data of a specific person; if you want your device's events removed, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz and we will help where we can. Scores and achievements you submitted to Game Center or Google Play Games are managed through your Apple or Google account and their respective privacy controls.
Equals does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The anonymous usage data described above contains no personal information and is not used to build advertising profiles. Optional Game Center and Google Play Games sign-in is provided and age-gated by Apple and Google under their own policies.
Equals sends no personal data to us, and the game data you create stays on your device. Anonymous usage events and any communication with Apple or Google game services are transmitted over encrypted connections.
Equals keeps your game data on your device, and the usage data we receive is anonymous, so in most cases there is no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to analytics — which you can exercise directly by turning off Share usage data in Settings. If you have any questions about exercising these rights, or about data held by Apple or Google, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz and we will do our best to help.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
If you have any questions or suggestions about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us at hey@outrun.xyz.
